Johnson's Face Care

Johnson's Face Care Review
I bought this a few days ago to try a new face wash and a soft exfoliater when I don't use the Soap and Glory, if I have a busy day. As I said before, I only use Soap & Glory to remove dead skin cells and dirt etc because I find that facial exoliater wash doesn't work for me, however, I still went ahead at buying these products.
I have OCD when it comes to dry skin, therefore having smooth, clean skin is really important for me. Johnson's face care exfoliater is a smooth but beady substance which gently exfoliates to remove any dirt and oil inside the pores. It does a good enough job to give my skin a nice clean glow, but doesn't remove all the dry skin that needs to be removed - hence why I am using Soap & Glory to do this job, as I suffer dry skin around the T-Zone, especially around the nose and the corners. Despite this, this product is very good to give you a nice clean glow.
After using the exfoliater, you then use the Johnson's face wash. The face wash is a very soft, light substance which massages nicely around the face and neck. It has a few big beads within the wash, which i dont see the point of because they do nothing for the skin. However, this product really makes your skin clean and oil free, which is fab. I would carry on using these products because I find with many products that after washing my face, it makes it extremely dry which i really hate. You're face naturally comes dry after washing, but this doesn't make your face as dry. It does say at the back of the product to use their day cream, but I don't use that, personally I don't really see why you have too. It just gives them more money by following their routine. I personally use E45, as it makes your face and body amazingly soft

Treatments for Acne.

Acne is a broad term covering blemishes, pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads. Even though acne is more known to be a problem amongst teenagers, this condition can strike at any age, depending on the condition of your skin.

I will be showing a number of products that have helped me when I break out now and again and a skin routine that I follow in order to have clear skin (most of the time), and I will also be telling the "don't's" while getting rid of spots.

Personally the best product to reduce spots while they have just shown is Clean & Clear Advantage Treatment Gel (product on the top left) - this is a miracle send for me! It does exactly what it says on the box. It states that it is clinically proven to reduce spots in 4 hours - I don't know if that is correct or not because I normally put the gel on before I go to bed and then when I wake up the huge sore spot has reduced dramatically. I quite like the smell of this product as well. "
Its unique formula containing spot-fighting ingredients quickly re-balances the level of oil, helps fight problems causing bacteria and effectively purifies the skin, all without irritating or over-drying". I agree with this because I found with a lot of products that it really does make your skin dry, and I suffer from that already so I don't want anything to make it worse, but this really does the job for my acne when I have a occasional break out.
The other product that I love is the
Neutrogena Visibly Clear Wash Mask! You can use this product as both a mask and a face wash. I personally don't use this product as a face wash but I found it really good as a face mask - it leaves my skin feeling really soft and clean which i really love.

In order to reduce the risk of breaking out with sore nasty looking spots is to exfoliate. Every day, your skin is shedding dead skin cells, and if you don't remove these skin cells they end up clogging up your pores and filling them up with oils and dirt, as a result the pores become inflamed and sore, which is what you call a "spot". Therefore, in order to stop this from happening it is soo important to exfoliate. I personally exfoliate my skin, including my body every 2-3 days, as like I said I do suffer from dry skin around my T-zone on my face no matter how much a moisturize, so it has become part of my routine to exfoliate. After I exfoliate I wash my face with some facial wash - it doesn't matter what you use as long as it doesn't contain any oils, and then I moisturize. But I would personally wait about 30 minutes before you moisturize because your pores haven't full closed by then, so you end up clogging your pores which won't help the matter. After I moisturize I then put the Clean & Clear Treatment Gel on. In order to keep control of the dirt and oils on your face, especially for people who suffer from oily skin is wash your face in the morning and in the night before you go to bed. If you have a busy schedule and didn't get in till late or whatever, try and at least wipe your make-up off with a face wipe or just wipe your face to get rid of oils, because that is a lot of the cause to spots because people leave their make-up on which is a big no no.

Do's and Don'ts.

  • Make sure you exfoliate your face and body at least ONCE a week.
  • Wash your face morning and night to remove any oil and dirt around the T-Zone.
  • Treat the Acne to your preferred treatment, if nothing works for you, then try the Clean & Clear treatment gel.
  • Moisturize your skin so it doesn't become to dry and irritated. It is very important to keep your skin moistured.
  • DO NOT pick your spots, this is the worst thing you can ever do. I know they are a pain in the bum and they look really disgusting but do not pick them. The more you pick the more worse they get as there is dirt on your fingers and your making the pores unclean
  • DO NOT pop your spot. I know this does not look attractive with the white bit in the middle of the spot but the best thing you can do is to leave it alone and let is disperse itself. If you pop it all the bacteria that is going on to your skin and fingers is spreading to other areas of your skin. Which will mean more pores will comes infected. If you keep popping your spots, sooner or later you will end up have acne scars, and that is the last thing you are going to want.
  • DO NOT over washing your face and body. A lot of people think the more you wash your face and body the more they are going to disappear but in the long run you are making it worse because your removing all the natural oils in your skin which your body needs to stop infection in the first place. Not all oils are bad. So don't over do it by washing your face three times a day or more. Keep it to at maximum of twice a day.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions don't doubt to ask.
A lot of the information I have given about large pores will also help to acne. :)

MaxFactor Creme Puff Powder

MaxFactor Creme Puff 05 Translucent Review
I bought this product for £4.92 on Amazon because its cheaper than retail stores. I bought this product because once I put my main foundation on my skin it looks rather skiny, I hate that look where you look fake and plastic. Max Factor Creme Puff is brilliant for getting rid of that skine. It gives an absolute flawless look, but it doesn't make you look too matte which is really good. I am personally expremely happy with this product because what I have found with other foundation powders is after a couple of hours, the powder begins to fade therefore your skin starts to look oily/ shiny, but this powder is brilliant because its lasts for so long, It spreads on evenly, whether you use a little facial foundation sponge you can buy cheaply or a foundation brush.
I highly recommend this product.

One Review from one happy customer:
What a brilliant buy this was. It is soo cheap and yet gives better results than many of the excruciatingly expensive high-end powders I've used.

"I have a slightly oily T-zone which can become flaky-looking if I use too many powders or other dry facial products. Max Factor's Creme Puff keeps my nose shine-free longer than any other coloured powder I've tried but doesn't accentuate flakiness or dry out my skin at all. I apply it over my primer, concealer and setting powder in the morning and it creates a really smooth, poreless, natural look that lasts until the end of the day. By early afternoon my nose looks slightly glowy but not at all shiny, and if I want to mattify it a bit I simply give myself a dusting of Creme Puff and have flawless skin again in an instant. The coverage is also pretty good for a pressed powder. I wouldn't wear this on its own over my slightly rosacea-prone nose, but when applied over concealer the redness is almost entirely eliminated.

There are a couple of drawbacks, the obvious one being the smell. Creme Puff has a VERY powdery (and probably artificial) scent, which could deter some people. It isn't that the smell is unpleasant - it harks back to glamorous 1920s ladies powdering their noses in front of their vanity tables - but it's just SO strong. I have got used to it now though, and it does vanish once you've applied the powder and put the compact away.

More annoying than the smell, in my opinion, is the sponge that is supplied with the compact. It's really abrasive and scratchy and does not allow you to apply the powder smoothly. I quickly disposed of it and am now using the lovely soft sponge from one of my old compacts. I'd recommend you do the same to ensure the best, smoothest application.

As far as choosing the correct shade goes, the little colour squares on the amazon page actually seem fairly accurate. I have very pale skin so went for what I presumed was the fairest shade, Truly Fair. It has turned out to be a good match, and I would recommend it for most pale-skinned women. It does have slightly pinky undertones, but luckily this hasn't emphasised any redness on my skin at all. If you have very bad rosacea or acne, though, you might be better off going for a more yellowy shade such as Candle Glow.

This is a very effective and very inexpensive product, which I imagine is why it's been around for so long. Hopefully it'll be around for a good while longer, as I intend to use it for some time to come. "

Clean & Clear Morning Glow

Clean & Clear Morning Glow Moisturizer, 100ml Review!
I bought this from Amazon for about about £5.
According to Clean & Clear it gives you a
brighter looking skin and gives you smooth skin.

I bought this to make my skin more glowing and brighter, but personally, I wouldn't use this product on your face. Even though it is from Clean & Clear ( a company which helps reduce spot breakouts), it does not help your skin at all. Within the moisturizer it contains shimmers, but nothing to over whelming like Edward Cullen on Twilight *giggles*. As a result, my skin broke out really bad - I had spots beneath the skin which is really horrible because your skin is so tender and sore, and I also had spots showing out of the skin which really isn't attractive. For this reason, I would not recommend putting this product on areas of the skin where you are prone to spots. So for me, I suffer from spots on my face, mainly my T-zone. So now, to make my skin look flowing, I use it on my arms and chest to make my tan look flawless, but that is the only use I have from it.
I dont know if I would buy it again because it is quite costly for the size, so if I was going to get a shimmer moisturizer again, I would get a cheaper alternative.

5/10.

St Moriz vs. Fake Bake

Now summer is approaching, I am sure many of you ladies no longer want to look like a white sheet. In order to have a beautiful tan, you don't need to bake yourself in a sun bed which harms your skin and health but simply apply fake tan.

In the last couple of weeks I have used Fake Bake and St Moriz...
Fake Bake original is around £20, you can get it from a number of stores, but I personaly got mind from Amazon for £19. Fake Bake does not have a horrible "biscuity" scent that many fake tans have, which is one positive thing about Fake Bake. It is very original because when you look into the bottle you will discover that the lotion is VERY dark, but don't let that frighten you, it is just an indicator to let you know where you are putting it, so if you can see a white streak you know that it is going to turn streaky when it develops. Leave the lotion to develop for 6-8 hours and wash the excess off in the shower afterwards. You will then have a streak free tan. However, considering the price of Fake Bake, I was expecting a much better tan. I applied twice but found that I wasn't that dark. I used to full body applications and I have discovered that I have used half the bottle already, so if you're not heavy on cash, I wouldn't recommend this product.

St Moriz on the other hand is fantastic. You can buy it from your local Savers store, or from Amazon. The bottle will be around £3 - 4, which is really cheap considering how great it is. St Moriz is a cheaper version of St Tropez, therefore they both have the same ingreidents. St Moriz is a mousse or sprary but personally I used the mousse because it's easier. St Moriz has a soapy fragrance therefore, you can go to town shopping while wearing the excess and no-one will know you have just applied fake tan half an hour ago. Like Fake Bake, St Moriz needs a number of hours to develop; it needs up to 4-6 hours, and then you need to wash the excess off in the shower. Sometimes when applying St Moriz, it looks really streaky and you think you are going to look silly later on when you wash it off, but surprsingly, you come out of the shower looking faboulous with no streaks and it is all even. The mousse is a green/brown colour as it has a colour indicator just like Fake Bake. If you look on my YouTube channel, you will see how brown I looked using St Moriz.

6/10 for Fake Bake.

9/10 for St Moriz.

The Horrible Pores!

  • Due to every day activities and life style, it is normal to get stressed, tired and not consuming the right foods. It is due to those little problems that cause our pores to be so visible. The reality is, not matter how good you are taking care of your face and how many expensive products you own, large pores will always pop up. For some people, just letting them alone is the best, but obviously that doesn't help a lot of people, which means they are constantly having large unattractive pores all over their skin.
But don't give up girls, there are some ways in which can help strink the large horrible pores.

  • The first most obvious which I always nag about is exfoliation! Exfoliating is soo important when dealing with your skin - and it might come to be a surprise but exfoliating solves alot of problems when it comes to skin because so many girls and women miss this vital routine out. Exfoliating not only gets rid of dry skin and dead skin cells but it also removes the oil, dirt and debris which cause the large pores on your skin. You can start by using a face srub if your skin is sensitive, but personally from my experience, I found that they don't work. They weren't harsh enough on the skin to actually remove the dry skin and get rid of dirt; and I found that my skin was still really oily, so I gave up using face scrubs. BUT, everyone is different - so have a try first and see what you think. But personally, I use Flake Away by Soap & Glory. I got mine for about £7 in Boots. Flake Away has a soapy fragrance and really does the job to get rid of dead skin and to make your skin really smooth, whether it's on your face or body. I personally use it on both. As of result of the exfoliater getting rid of the dirt and oil out of skin, you are less likely to break out with horrible spots, which get alot of the female population down.

  • Every week, whenever you are free, try to get into a routine of putting on a face mask. It doesn't matter if its a peel mask or an actual mud mask. They both do the job to get rid of oil and dirt within the pores. By doing this every week, your pores are refreshed and clean which will result in the pores strinking slowly; and you get the bonus of your skin feeling so smooth and refreshed, which really lifts up your mood on a bad day.

  • I have personally tried using a face steamer which you can get from Argos, Boots etc, which boils water to a certain temperature and it makes your pores open and "unplug" them. Hold your face above the steam for about 5 - 10 minutes. You will know if your pores are opening up because you will feel a tingling sensensation which i really love :D After you finish, run to the sink and wash your face with warm water. It has been said that by drenching a cloth in lemon and pineapple juice helps your pores as well. Lemon and pineapply juice contain natural enzymes that tighten and firm the face and purify and brighten the skin. Lemon has the ability to cleanse and shrink the appearance of pores. So simply, after steaming your face, hold this cloth on your face for about 5 minutes and wash your face with warm water as normal.

Hope this helps girlies, but like I said this won't get rid of your pores forever. But remember, pores an all, you're all beautiful :) x x x
